Ian has a broad 30-year career spanning a main board role as Investment Director for an AIM-quoted technology investment company, financial and general management roles with private equity-backed businesses, multi-national backed start-ups and a high profile family-owned company plus a strategic advisory engagement for a national government in the Gulf.
As head of corporate M&A for Blenheim Exhibitions Group plc during its growth in value from £50m to £250m, Ian completed some 40 acquisitions and associated financings in the 2 years and led the group’s move from the USM to the LSE Main Market. He qualified as a Chartered Accountant with Arthur Andersen & Co., London after graduating from the University of Exeter with a Bachelor of Engineering in Engineering Science having a National Engineering Scholarship and sponsorship from Dunlop.
Malcolm is founder Chairman of Golden Prospect, last year's top performing investment trust, which is domiciled in Guernsey and managed by CQS. He is regulated by the Financial Conduct Authority. He started his longstanding career as an equity analyst with a leading firm of London stockbrokers, and was an investment columnist with the Financial Times and Telegraph advising investors on companies and markets.
He has successfully started several of his own City-based corporate finance, broking and investment management firms from which he subsequently obtained profitable exits. He has also run or established several publicly quoted securities and asset management groups in Hong Kong, Australia and North America as well as the UK with a focus on financial services, technology and resources. He remains an active chairman or director of various companies in venture investing.
Veronika has an investors relations and corporate development background with technology, corporate finance and asset management companies. This experience has been gained in both the public and private company sectors.
Veronika has also invested, developed and managed real estate portfolios from which profitable exists were achieved.
She will augment Startech’s research and investment capabilities and liaise with shareholders, the wider investment community and the financial media.
John specialized in East Asian Studies at University of Rochester, New York and has close relationships with family offices in San Francisco and Hong Kong. As an undergraduate intern he developed his equity analysis and investment skills in private equity, commodities trading, event driven hedge fund investing and brokerage with groups such as Noble Group and IJP Capital.His engagement with both San Francisco Silicon Valley and Asia from a young age brings a ‘Millennial’ perspective of the dynamic tech sector to the Star Tech team.
Jonathan is a British born Silicon Valley entrepreneur focused on automotive technologies. He has lived and worked in the Bay Area for a decade where he has been both investor and founder of technology startups, raising over $20m for his last company, Ignite Game Technologies, a motorsport simulation venture. He has a significant network of peers in the region and knowledge of disruptive trends and Valley companies on the move. He is currently building the largest provider of specialized training solutions to Silicon Valley companies working on mapping, connected car and autonomous vehicle technologies. He has a master's degree in finance.
